THE CURRICULUM FRAMEWORK OF PANCHAMRUT INSTITUET OF NURSING IS BASED ON KSVME MODEL

Aims and Objectives

To impart a sense of co-operation and healthy understanding among the old students, present students, Teaching staff and advisiory Body of Panchamrut Institute of Nursing Nikol Ahmedabad (PIN) to maintain the pride of our Panchamrut.

To promote the academic, cultural, social, research and scientific activities of the students and members of staff.

To uphold the dignity of nursing profession and safeguard the rights and privileges of the profession in general.

Our Philosophy

The philosophy of Panchamrut Institute of Nursing flows from the mission of the Institute and supports the concepts of clinical competence, excellence in education, holistic care, professionalism, evidence-based practice and learning till last breath.

We at Panchamrut Institute of Nursing believe that,

• The nursing courses (B.Sc. Nursing, G.N.M., A.N.M. & Post basic B.Sc. Nursing) should be planned around the nursing care need of the society as well as the educational needs and personal development of nursing students.

• The primary focus of the educational program is to prepare the student nurse for professional nursing practices in all fields.

• The faculty of the college accepts the responsibility of helping the students to adjust to new situations and provides them with the opportunity, which contribute towards development of the student as a person, responsible citizen and competent practitioner.

• Nurses have great part to play in building, presenting and nourishing health of people in hospital, community and society with full sacrifice and devotion.

• Nursing is a professional education which should be conducted in accordance to its demands of a keen mind, hard study and ability apply theory into the practice of nursing.

• We believe in considering the modern changes in medical technologies and advancement in medical sciences and depending on that we review our syllabus time to time to keep in pace with new trends and issues in nursing.

• We accept in providing the services the nurses’ function as member of health team in interpreting and carrying the instruction of physician by collaborating with professional colleagues in the planning and delivering of health services and by acting independently, when the needs of patient and principles of nursing practices so indicate.

Objectives:

After completion of the B.Sc. Nursing, G.N.M. & A.N.M. Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing students will be able to:

Provide competent, safe, high-quality, and culturally sensitive nurse-midwifery care to address the health needs of people from a diversity of backgrounds, experiences, family structures, and communities.

Critically evaluate theories, concepts, and research findings from nursing, midwifery, and related sciences for translation into clinical practice.

Use effective communication and leadership skills in inter professional teams to promote positive change in the health care of people, newborns, and families.

Apply principles of transformative justice and the social determinants of health in the evaluation of health policies and advocacy for the health of people and families in local, national, and international contexts.

Assess health status and identify nursing needs, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for individuals, families and communities.

Develop knowledge and understanding of the scientific principles underlying the techniques and methods used in nursing for providing holistic nursing care to the sick in the hospital and in the community.

Develop the student's sensitivity and skill in human relationships and communication in daily work.

Demonstrate leadership and administrative skills in working with the health care team, community and others in the provision of health care.

Dear Students,

I am really delighted to highlight that the Panchamrut institute of Nursing is a unique nursing Institute, established in the year 2018, is affiliated to gujarat University Ahmedabad started with mission to provide excellence in professional nursing education, academically and technically sound with emphasis on human caring and holistic health. We focus on professional advancement through nursing research and development of nursing leaders as education is our tradition.

“Nursing” has evolved to an entirely new level since its birth. The baton of unconditional love and care that has been passed down from Miss Florence Nightingale across generations has undergone a paradigm shift today. Technological advancements, amazing discoveries and awesome inventions, have endowed the profession of nursing accessories for better care. From what was earlier known as “traditional” nursing, the profession has now transformed into a “Hi-Tech” nursing. Today, we are in an era of evidence-based practice. The essential perquisite of any nursing action is its scientific validity. Nurses are thus becoming increasingly rational and scientific in their approach to nursing care. Nevertheless, the profession still holds firm to its noble values of “love”, “care” and “selfless service”. It stands firmly grounded on the principles of humaneness, which is in fact the need of the present day. Thus, nursing education has two crucial roles to play. It should be aimed at nurturing future nurses with all the essential values of life at one hand, and simultaneously, it should provide the student nurses with knowledge, skills and attitude related to the hi-tech care. While education has always imparted knowledge and developed the mind, the major function of education would be to inculcate in the student a desire to evolve. Basically, nursing education aims at creating a competent nurse with a “HEART”, “HEAD” and “HAND”.
